Lactoperoxidase is a peroxidase enzyme found in milk and has antioxidant properties. Lactoperoxidase has been recognized as an effective antimicrobial and antibacteriostatic agent in food, nutritional, and pharmaceutical applications.
 
		
		
				
		Lactoperoxidase
		
		Lactoperoxidase is an enzyme extracted from premium quality bovine milk. It has been  shown to be bacteriostatic against gram-negative organisms and exhibits pH dependent  bacteriocidal action against gram-negative organisms in the presence of thiocyanate  and hydrogen peroxide. Lactoperoxidase offers antimicrobial properties, is resistant to  proteolysis and also offers protein iodination.
